Book Drive Appeal

Culture Vultures Arts Organisation and AiR Sefrou, Artist In Residence, connects people locally, regionally and nationally with an enriching experience in Northern Morocco.  The residency programme has been running for four years with a staff versed in both arts and local knowledge. We orientate artists, curators and researchers to immerse themselves in the landscape as well as lifting opportunity for presentation of new work.

The time frame for the artists in residence to be with AiR Sefrou is usually one month: this time goes by swiftly as we encourage the daily practice to be active and integrated with the immediate community and surrounding cultures. As the residency house and local cafes serve well for contemplation and reading, we are expanding our current book collection to infuse this experience with knowledge apart from the internet.  The connections made with the community and work with local artisans are guaranteed to offer insight into the rich location however, book resources are essential to support the artist’ s work.

There is a wealth of great books from all genres, set with Morocco as a protagonist, that artists coming to Sefrou can benefit immensely from, potentially feed their artwork and often further develop a dialogue.

Culture Vultures is currently calling out to its vast community to contribute. With your support we can present to those visiting a deeper insight into North African art, craft, anthropology, history, agriculture (to name a few) alongside relevant magazines and (non)fiction. Donations can be second hand or brand new. Please see our wish list/book list linked HERE (Book List)  for guidance and if you will like to make a donation.
Please contact Nissa, Artist in Residence Officer at airsefrou@yahoo.comfor for contributions or suggestions.  As a donor, please know that you are enriching an arts movement in the region and there is also a spoon set aside for you at our cous cous table.   Any contribution will be greatly appreciated.
